Whilst other residency programmes are on pause or have been discontinued Immigration New Zealand has indicated there will be a skilled route to residency visa the Accredited Employer Work Visa.
IMMIGRATION NEW ZEALAND says that migrants who earn 2 x the median wage (currently $27 per hour -April 2022, rising to $27.76 in July 2022) will be eligible for a new residency category. We don’t know yet what further criteria will be for this visa. Will migrants be required to have a certain standard of proficient in English Language? Will they need to show specific work experience or qualifications relevant to the job they are doing? Will other qualifications assist them in gaining residency via this path? Will the partners of principal applicants be able to contribute to eligibility for this visa pathway?
